Where I’m Doing My Black Friday Shopping

One of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions is looking over all the Black Friday sale ads with my family after stuffing ourselves with turkey and sweet potato casserole.  But, I never actually partake in actual Black Friday shopping.  Yesterday, one of my husband’s cousins came thisclose to convincing me to hit the stores at midnight for some shopping madness.  I almost fell for it.

Eventually, I wised up and figured sleep was more important and knew there’d be plenty of sales waiting for me online today.

So far, here’s where I’ve been doing my Black Friday shopping:

elissas store

First stop: my friend Elissa’s Etsy shop.  Elissa is an extremely talented illustrator who has been featured on Lauren Conrad’s blog!  I have been meaning to purchase her “I Believe In Pink” print forever and figured her 20% off coupon (BLACKFRIDAY) was the perfect time to do it!

I’ve also bought gifts at these two places:

All from the comfort of my own home. 🙂

Are you doing any Black Friday shopping?  Beware of crazy shoppers and pepper spray!

  • I might take a spin around Nordstrom Rack, but Black Friday is a little too intense for me. I drove by a Best Buy on Wednesday evening and already people were hanging out in tents. The door busters ARE really great though – there’s a Samsung LED TV for $999 when it’s originally $4K.

  • My wife has gone a few times. Most of the stuff just isn’t worth the headache. You can get good deals on cyber Monday I think its what they call it. But most of the time the closer to Christmas it is the better deal you can get. Even better than Black Friday.

  • I have to admit, I’ve only ever done BF with guy friends. IE: they were the instigators and I just went along to keep them company and hang out. But I haven’t done it in years.

I did order a couple of gifts from MyHabit for the first time, my fingers are crossed that they’re good quality (but free ship and free return shipping which is why I gave them a try). And I ordered a possible gift from Gap.com with their extra 20% off on Friday. All from the comfort of my laptop. 🙂 I’d better put in all other orders in soon if I expect to enjoy any other hassle free, shipping only shopping!

  • Of course, I was doing Black Friday shopping. In fact, I plan to doing shopping on Christmas Day, too. There are so many wonderful goods to shop and so many online coupons & deals to take advantage of. On Black Friday, I got one wonderful dinnerware on homedecorators with the help of CouponSnapshot. I enjoy the process of shopping and saving. However, I want to say that shopping online rationally is more important that saving money.
