How to Treat Yourself on a Budget

When’s the last team you treated yourself? Truly treated yourself? If you’re a full-time mom, put in the hours at your place of work—regardless of whether that’s a company like The Institute of Natural Health or even a local restaurant—or just haven’t had a break in a while, it’s about time you treated yourself to a little something-something.

But treating yourself can get expensive, and you’ve got bills to pay and money to save. Don’t worry, there are still plenty of fun ways you can treat yourself on a budget.

 

Get a Delicious Treat

 

Maybe you try to watch what you eat most of the time, but not today. Today, you deserve to treat yourself to a delicious treat without any feelings of guilt or shame. Maybe you’re a donut person? Get a dozen and don’t look back. Perhaps you prefer ice cream? Grab a tall cone full of your favorite flavors and chow down! Cake, slushies, cookies; none of them are off-limits!

 

Buy Yourself a Book

 

When’s the last time you read a good book? Run to your nearest Barnes & Noble or browse Amazon for one that catches your eye, or if you own a kindle, pick out a bundle that you think you’d like. Then you can relax at the pool or the beach as you get lost in a fictional world of your choice.

 

Catch a Movie Alone

 

Who says you can’t go to the movies alone? If there’s a film coming out that you would really like to see, then, by all means, go see it. Grab a matinee ticket, sneak in a snack, and enjoy the show! If you’re trying to save money, you might not want to get a bathtub-sized bucket of popcorn and a soda to match, but there are cheaper alternatives, and some theaters won’t even care if you bring in your own water or a snack either.

 

Sleep In

 

You’ve been waking up at seven in the morning for far too long. It’s time you slept in and enjoyed your precious sleep for once! Forget the alarm next Saturday and give yourself the chance to enjoy being lazy for a bit longer.

 

Treat Yourself!

 

These are all excellent and inexpensive ways to treat yourself. Whether you decide to do one of these activities or one of your own, you’re in for a good time. And why not? You’ve earned it!
