Everything You Want to Know About Jenna Marbles

If you’ve ever lost countless hours watching YouTube videos because you just couldn’t stop (we’ve all been there, right?), then you’ve probably run across a video or two (or 50) from Jenna Marbles. Jenna has over 350 videos on her channel, a following of over 17 million subscribers, and over 2 billion views, with each of her videos having at least a million views each and some with over 15 million views. Her YouTube fame got its start in 2010 on a whim to see what would happen and her success just keeps growing.

But before that first video, Jenna was a lot like anyone else who struggles to pay bills while working lots of long hard hours. She was working several part-time jobs just trying to make enough to pay her $800/month rent. She found work as a bartender, a go-go dancer, blogging, and working in a tanning salon, but she was making just enough to get by.

Jenna is no slouch though. She’s earned a B.S. in psychology then a master’s degree in sports psychology and counseling. It was during those college years that she came out of her shell and found that zany personality you know and love on YouTube.

Her first video, entitled “How to Trick People Into Thinking You’re Good Looking” was a video of her putting on makeup to work at a nightclub that night as a go-go dancer. She went from pale faced with a bad case of bed head to sexy and pulled together in a 2 ½ minute video. Her personality was fun, flirtatious, and energetic. People loved her! In less than two days it became a viral sensation and received over 5.3 million views within a week.

Since then, she’s posted a new video every Wednesday and her following is growing bigger and bigger.

But those college degrees aren’t going to waste. She is using her psychology background to connect with her viewers and share her personal life in a way that makes others feel like they are her best friend. She says all the things you wish you could say and relates to people in a magnetic and comical way that pulls you right into her world.

But here’s what you really need to know . . . becoming a YouTube sensation can become a way to make extra money, pay down debt, and even create a more financially stable life for yourself. People often wonder if you can really make money on YouTube. In the case of Jenna Marbles, the answer is YES!

No one knows exactly how much she makes because YouTube stars aren’t required to disclose that, but it’s estimated that she earns somewhere in the mid-six-figures annually and has a net worth of over 3 million. Not bad for someone struggling to pay bills just seven years ago!

And since she works for herself, she is able to maintain her creative freedom, making videos on any topic that she feels like with no one to tell her any different. Her videos are pretty low-budget, no bright lights, staging, or even an expensive camera. Just Jenna and her small camera sharing her life with the world.

If you’ve ever thought about creating your own YouTube channel as a way to make some extra money, follow Jenna and watch her videos to build your own path to success through someone else’s example.
