Find the Perfect Christmas Gift for Your Mom

How is your holiday shopping going?  I am proud to say that my holiday shopping is done.  The gifts aren’t yet wrapped or under the tree (which was delivered yesterday), but at least I have them all.  I really love this time of the year so I started – and finished – my Christmas shopping in November.

If you are shopping for the perfect gift for your Mom – or any woman in your life – don’t look any further because I have a list of great gift ideas.  And the best part is you don’t need to spend a fortune and get into credit card debt to find the perfect gift.

I honestly believe that the perfect gift doesn’t need to cost a fortune – it just has to come from the heart (meaning put some effort into the thought) and be perfect for the recipient.  Last week I shared some Christmas gift ideas for the man in your life and today we are doing the same for the women in your life.

Here’s a list of great gift ideas for your Mom:

Christmas decorations

I don’t know about you, but my mother LOVES decorating.  Even though she has boxes and boxes of Christmas decorations in her basement she is always looking for more.  Don’t get me wrong, she’s not a crazy hoarder or anything, she just likes to decorate for the season.  My mom is a huge NFL Tennessee Titans fan and this year I bought her a team Christmas tree ornament.  She’s going to love it.  A nice festive centerpiece is another great gift idea.

A snuggle blanket or throw

If you live in a part of the country where it gets cold this time of year – like I do – then you probably love snuggling up on the couch with a warm throw.  If you shop at stores like Marshalls or TJ Maxx you can find thick, good quality throws for under $40.  Choose a neutral color to make sure it can go with any decor.  A blanket is a great gift idea for mother-in-laws because it’s neutral and useful and can be kept for years to come.

Dinner out for two

Can you think of a better gift for your mom than a night out with her husband?  Last year I gave my mom a gift card to her favorite restaurant and made sure it covered the cost for dinner for two.  She loved it because with busy schedules and a household to keep up she and her husband (who is not my Dad) rarely get to go out and have a nice dinner.  But they did last year thanks to my Christmas gift.

A good book

You know I’m an avid reader and appreciate a good book any time of the year.  This year I bought Psychos by Babe Walker for my sister.  It’s the sequel to the bestselling book White Girl Problems so if the woman in your life is looking for a funny, sarcastic and dramatic Christmas read this book should definitely be on your list.

What do you want for Christmas this year?
