Ew. Last week, I was taken down by some sort of evil virus that beat the crap out of me for a solid 10 days straight. Seriously. Haven’t been that sick in a LOOONG time. I named it “The Bachelor Party Virus of 2011” since it started right around the time G’s bachelor party weekend (yes, weekend) started.
Anyways, now that that’s out of my system, normal blogging shall now resume. I also think I may have found a blog designer! I’m all sorts of excited for all the blogging I can do on my fresh-faced blog after the wedding and honeymoon (which, by the way, is about 27 days away … no big deal).
Moving on …
Please take a second to check out this link and watch this local news story about a sweet black lab named Phoenix that was maliciously set on fire about 10 days ago. If you are able, please consider donating to Love 4 Paws – a charity that is helping to raise funds for the rehabilitation and treatment of Phoenix.
I, along with many other Kansas Citians, want to adopt Phoenix after he gets better (as you can imagine, he’s undergoing serious treatments right now).
I actually have an “in” with the people that own the complex where he is being treated. Although G and I didn’t plan to adopt a dog until we buy a house (early next year), I would love, love, LOVE to adopt this dear dog and give it a great home. We shall see what happens in the coming months after he is rehabilitated and all better.
In the meantime, if you can, please check out Love 4 Paws!

That poor, sweet animal. People make me sick.
Having two dogs myself, I am so disgusted by that. I can’t imagine how people can set animals on fire, or do anything to hurt them they are so innocent and loving creatures. I hope you get to adopt him when he gets better, but if not I hope that someone does so the poor animal can be treated right!
